About Us
With the experience of over 60 years, Thai Metal Drum Manufacturing Public Company Limited (TMD) is the first manufacturer of new steel drums in Thailand. TMD was established in 1958 to engage in the manufacturing and distribution of 200 litre steel drums for storing and transporting of most types of liquid substances such as petrochemical products, lubricant oils, food products and agricultural products. All of our drums are produced from high quality raw materials using advanced machinery under stringent supervision by skilled personnel at every stage of the process.
In 1987, TMD expanded its business by establishing Songkhla Metal Drum Company Limited (SMD) to manufacture and distribute 200 litre steel drums in Hadyai, Songkhla province for rubber latex industries in Southern Thailand.
In 1989, TMD was registered in The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and later increased its registered capital to 150 million baht to expand its business into real estate development with the purchase of office space in Lake Rajada Office Complex for sale and rent, which is located in a central business district of Bangkok, only 500 metres from Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT station.
In 1994, TMD became a public company as well as diversified into the business of plastic products by establishing the PET Company Limited to manufacture and distribute variety of plastic products such as PET bottles, preform tubes, corrugated sheets and drum caps.
In 2006, TMD relocated its factory to Wellgrow Industrial Estate in Chachoengsao province and purchased an entire new set of the most advanced drum manufacturing machines. This acquisition of advance production technologies has enhanced our production capacity and enabled us to meet the rising demand for steel drums. TMD has been certified by international quality management certifications such as ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001, UN standard on the transport of dangerous goods, reflecting its total commitment and keen pursuit of excellence in both environmental conservation and business development. With the latest technology production process being in place, it thus enables the company to produce steel drums promptly to meet customer demand.
